The Cordish Companies' encompass four generations of privately-held, Cordish family ownership. Founded by Louis Cordish in 1910, the company first began developing in the Baltimore-Washington area. Louis’ son, Paul Cordish, joined in 1933, helping grow the company’s developments while also founding Cordish & Cordish, the company’s in-house legal division. Paul remained active in the business into his nineties. Louis and Paul’s legacy of integrity, quality, entrepreneurism, and long-term relationships remain the core values of The Cordish Companies.
Paul's son David joined in 1963 and assumed leadership of the companies in the late 1960s. He has served as its Chairman and CEO since that time. In his five decades of leadership, The Cordish Companies have grown into an internationally-recognized real estate developer and owner/operator of a growing suite of operating businesses. All three of David's sons - Jonathan, Blake and Reed - have been partners in the business for decades, with responsibilities over finance, real estate development and entertainment operations respectively. David's stepson, Jonathan Sinex, oversees the family's private equity investment business.
The Cordish family has continually risked and reinvested the family’s capital to grow their businesses, create new jobs, and enhance economic opportunities in the communities in which they operate. Across the generations, The Cordish Companies have adhered to the highest standards of integrity and excellence in their work. The Cordish family is committed to continuing these values for generations to come.
