Cordish Private Ventures ("CPV") is the private equity investment arm of the Cordish Company. Founded in 1998, CPV invests primarily in leading private equity funds, and seeks superior risk-adjusted returns with a long-term investment horizon.
Since 1998, CPV has made more than forty investments. While CPV has investment experience across the spectrum of private equity asset classes--including venture capital, buyouts, mezzanine debt and distressed assets--it has a particular focus on smaller, highly differentiated and specialized buyout funds focused on lower middle-market operating businesses.
CPV also makes a limited number of non-controlling direct equity investments in operating companies. Notable direct private equity investments include Bravo Health, Inc., Caspian Networks, Sophia Wireless, and Theravance, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNQ).
In addition, in 2012, CPV completed a joint venture partnership with Dixon Advisory & Superannuation Services Limited of Australia. The joint venture, US Select Private Opportunities Fund, LP, has a mandate to continue CPV’s successful strategy of investing in U.S.-based buyout managers focused on lower middle-markets. Mr. Jonathan Cordish and Ms. Margaret Cordish, two principals of CPV, serve on the Advisory Board of this joint venture (see below for their biographies).
