All Luckied Up

What’s Baltimore? It’s live music. It’s canned beer. It’s chillin’ out,” says Nathan Hayes, bar manager at Luckie’s Liquors, the newest addition to Power Plant Live! A “Baltimore bar,” its chalkboard-painted walls are covered with scribbles, band posters and a neon orange Domino Sugars sign made from grates that Hayes welded together.

Two enormous garage doors separate the bar’s interior from the outdoor plaza stage. A smaller indoor stage hosts local acoustic bands, and on Thursdays, a DJ brings a loungey feel to the space. Luckie’s boasts 90 varieties of canned beer, from Natty Boh to Brewer’s Art “Resurrection,” and an all-American menu offers a range of specialty burgers and hot dogs like “The Chuck Norris,” a dog piled with cheese, bacon, baked

beans and onions.
