Bayou Place Proudly Announces PBR Houston

PBR (“Professional Bull Riders, Inc.”) Bring Their Country-Cool Concept to the Popular Downtown Entertainment Destination

HOUSTON, TX (March 22, 2011) – Bayou Place is pleased to announce the grand opening of PBR Houston (“Professional Bull Riders, Inc.”) on Friday, March 25, 2011.  Grand opening events include special appearances by PBR bull riding champions Brian “Pee Wee” Herman and Mike White aka “Mighty Mike White.”

PBR first opened its doors in 2009 at the Power & Light District in Kansas City, MO and has since launched venues in Las Vegas, NV and, most recently, Baltimore, MD, making the Houston location its fourth venture.  PBR Houston boasts nearly 9,000 square feet of party space including a 2,000 square foot outdoor terrace overlooking the downtown theater district.  The interior is an eclectic combination of “classic cowboy” and “urban hip,” with a mechanical bull and large dance-floor forming the nucleus of the room and two large bars flanking the space.  The venue is powered by a state-of-the-art “live” sound and light system equipped for both live entertainment and dancing nightly.

“PBR sanctioned the bull riding at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo for the first time this year, and now we have the perfect place for all those fans to go to celebrate with the opening of the newest PBR club,” said PBR President and COO Sean Gleason. “PBR is not only one of the most exciting sports, but also one of the most popular and fastest growing. We sell out arenas from coast-to-coast, including the world’s most famous arena Madison Square Garden.”

“Our goal with the PBR club is to create a place that captures the electricity and the warm camaraderie of our events. PBR club accomplishes both and does so in spectacular fashion. We can’t wait to open PBR Houston and bring the PBR brand to life every day of the week.”
