Cordish's One Light Lands Finalist Spot for Global Excellence Award
One Light, the Cordish Cos.' 307-unit luxury apartment tower in Kansas City's Power & Light District, has been selected as a finalist in the Urban Land Institute's 2017 Global Awards for Excellence program.
The program honors private, public and nonprofit development projects that achieve the highest standard of excellence in innovative design, construction, economics, planning and management. Baltimore-based Cordish Cos. has been awarded an unprecedented seven ULI Awards for Excellence, more than any other developer in the world. It received one for for the Power & Light District in 2009, and two of its projects — One Light and Ballpark Village in St. Louis — have been named finalists this year.
One Light is the first new high-rise apartment tower to be built in downtown Kansas City in more than 50 years. According to a Cordish Co. release, "One Light has redefined urban living for the Midwest by marrying luxury, smart growth and state-of-the art apartments with all-inclusive entertainment and lifestyle amenities such as an adjacent gourmet market, Cosentino's Downtown Market; a 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness club, Onelife; and a one-acre rooftop dog park."
One Light, the first of four luxury apartments The Cordish Cos. will build in downtown Kansas City, "has provided residents the ambiance and amenities of a sophisticated boutique hotel coupled with the conveniences of lifestyle amenities," the release added.

Twenty-five finalists were selected by an international jury made up of ULI members. Winners chosen from the finalists will be announced in October at the 2017 ULI Fall Meeting in Los Angeles.
