Best Real Estate Deals of 2021: Announcing this year's honorees

The Philadelphia Business Journal annually honors the Best Real Estate Deals in Greater Philadelphia, including the individuals behind them.

With an abundance of projects brokered, completed or in the many stages in between, there was no shortage of deals to choose from this year. Honorees were determined by an outside panel of judges from projects nominated by the public. Some honorees were also suggested by the judges. In total, 30 projects were selected as the 2021 Best Real Estate Deals.

To be considered, the deals had to have an element of transaction – such as an acquisition, sale, lease, financing agreement or the completion of a project – take place in the 2021 calendar year.

This year’s top deals fall in a range of categories: Affordable Housing; Environmental, Social and Governance; Higher Education and Health Care; Industrial; Multifamily; Office; and Retail and Hospitality. Two of those categories – Affordable Housing and Environmental, Social and Governance – are new this year.

In addition to the projects, the judges also selected honorees in the Dealmakers and Rising Stars categories, which recognize individuals in the industry who stood out for their achievements.

All category winners will be unveiled at an event on March 31 at the W Hotel in Philadelphia, as well as in a special publication of the Business Journal on April 1.

The Deal of the Year, Dealmaker of the Year, and Rising Star of the Year will also be revealed at the event.
