Kansas City's One Light celebrated its grand opening in style Tuesday, complete with Quixotic performers, The Kansas City Star reports.
The 25-story luxury apartment tower sits at 13th and Walnut streets in the Kansas City Power & Light District and marks the first new residential tower constructed in or near Downtown since 1976.
Just a few years ago, the location was the dumpster entrance to the former Jones Store, Sean O’Byrne, vice president of the Downtown Council of Kansas City, said during the grand opening.
The luxury apartment tower is already at 80 percent capacity, KMBC Reports. The Cordish Co. plans to begin construction on the 24-story Two Light building early next year.
