The Fudgery Comes to Fourth Street Live!
The Fudgery, Fourth Street Live! and The Cordish Companies today announced plans to bring The Fudgery to Louisville’s Fourth Street Live! The Fudgery, widely known for its hand made, traditional fudge in addition to its unique brand of singing fudge makers, will open its newest location late summer of 2012. The Fudgery, now in its 33rd year, currently operates 26 stores in over a dozen states and is still headed by its original founder and CEO, AC Marshall. The announcement is a part of a string of new openings at Fourth Street Live! including the recently-launched Mosaic Nightclub & Lounge, PBR Louisville, Mozzaria, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant and Tavern on Fourth (debuting late 2012). The Fudgery will occupy approximately 1,600 square feet in between the new Gordon Biersch and The Pub and will employ approximately 20 employees.
A.C. Marshall launched his first store on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 1980, specializing in the time honored tradition of fudge making using copper kettles, marble slabs and the very best ingredients: pure vanilla, chocolate and a time tested process. The confection shop lured beach-goers into the store with a unique mix of singing, showmanship, and the best fudge the world has ever known. And the show has never stopped. The Fudgery team members who stir, turn and fold the fudge are famous for belting out show tunes, creating an energetic and entertaining atmosphere. In fact, some employees have subsequently gone on to successful national singing careers and recording contracts after being “discovered” at The Fudgery, including R&B group Dru Hill and Hip-Hop sensation Sisqo! The Fudgery’s commitment to quality continues as the company grows into new markets and expands their selection, now also offering caramel apples and gourmet dessert sauce in addition to premium quality Blue Bell ice cream and milk shakes.

Employees for The Fudgery at Fourth Street Live! will be selected in an interview- audition process, somewhat similar to that of the FOX network’s American Idol, to be held later this summer.
