Arlington’s Swanky New Resort Scores a Steakhouse and Swim-Up Bar
New offerings at Live! By Loews also include build-your-own Old Fashioneds and poolside Hurricanes
Arlington’s new Live! Loews hotel adjacent to the Dallas Cowboys stadium just unleashed its star dining attractions, designed to keep guests satisfied off everything from grab-and-go breakfast bites to swanky elixirs to pricey wild game dishes.
The 14-story, 300 resort next to AT&T Stadium (1600 East Randol Mill Road, Arlington, Texas) has five options under vet resorts chef Mouhssine “Moose” Benhamact’s watch: steakhouse Cut & Bourbon; lobby lounge Bar Bourbon; al fresco mixology bar Arlington Clover Club; poolside bar and lounge SOAK; and grab-and-go market River Market.
Here’s a summary of each new offering:
Cut & Bourbon: The property’s main American-themed restaurant slings every meal of the day (including weekend brunch). The modern wooden floor and stone-lined restaurant relies on local ingredients, wild game, and seafoods to build entrees ($25 to $85). Steaks balloon to 32-oz proportions, served with sauces and the option to go surf-n-turf via half Maine lobster and grilled prawns add-ons. There’s some 70 whiskies and bourbons to choose from. Full menu here.
Bar Bourbon: This 360-degree lobby bar offers expansive views of AT&T Stadium, stocked with ubiquitous to rare whiskeys. Guests can reserve their own bourbon locker to store bottles. Cocktails include “World At Play” (Kettle One, Sipsmith London Gin, olive oil, celery bitters and amontillado), and the Gulf Storm (Bacardi 8 yr, Knob Creek, ginger, pecan and byrrh). Guests can name their own bitters and spirits for customizable Old Fashioneds.
Arlington Clover Club: This outdoor bar off of the main lobby features soaring columns, fancy chandeliers, and flowing water decor. Light bites includes a chili and melon salad and lamb satay. Cocktails are the star here, with a punch of the month and funky drink names like a “Self Portrait in a Green Bugatti” (coconut-washed Cruzan rum, Hendrick’s gin, matcha and mint). Full menu here.
SOAK: This secretive swim-up bar at its infinity pool can be accessed through a hidden walkway marked by neon signage. Traditional pool-friendly elixirs include a Hurricane, margarita and gin and tonic, as well as sharable sangrias and frozen daiquiris. Light offerings include fruit bowls, flatbreads, and sandwiches. Big spenders can book their own cabanas. Full menu here.
River Market: This quick-serve cafe and coffee bar features fresh juices, sandwiches, and pastries. Caffeine comes from local roaster Salter Bros., with sports-themed uppers like a Double Header with espresso and toffee nut and Curveball with espresso and praline.
More sports fans will flock to the entertainment district when Texas Rangers’s new Globe Life Field debuts next spring. The swanky hotel is a JV between the MLB baseball team, Loews Hotels, and The Cordish Companies.
