Power Plant Live! Announces 2018 Family Fun Day Series Following Year of Growth in Family-Friendly Programming

District expands commitment to family programming, partners with five local charities

BALTIMORE, MD (May 21, 2018) - Power Plant Live!, Baltimore’s premier dining and entertainment destination, announces its 2018 Family Fun Day Series. Committed to growing its family focused programming and community engagement, the district will now host two additional Family Fun Days and partner with five nonprofit organizations. This expansion in kid-friendly programming comes after 250% increase in all-ages attendance at last year’s Family Fun Series.

“The response to our family events has been really exciting. Downtown Baltimore has been a prime location for area parents looking for fun, educational and affordable activities—and our Family Fun Days have become a summer staple,” said Chris Furst, Director of Marketing at Power Plant Live!.

The series will kick off this Saturday, May 19 from 12-4 p.m., with a Day at the Races themed event benefiting Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House at Johns Hopkins. Entry to the event is free and includes crafts, games, vendors, educational activities and kid-friendly yoga.

Guests can purchase $5 All-Access wristbands for access to pony rides, inflatables, and face painting, as well as $15 passes that grant discounted access to Port Discovery. One hundred percent of All-Access wristband sales will be donated to the featured charity.

“Our Family Fun Days started two years ago as a way for us to give back to our local community and provide a fun event for families of all ages without breaking the bank,” said Chris Furst. “This year we are taking it a step further by partnering with local organizations that have opportunities for the future generation to give back. We are proud to support these nonprofits and teach kids about the importance of paying it forward and bettering our community.”

Last year, the series raised more than $4,000 for its charity partner, Volunteering Untapped. 2018 charity partners include the Believe in Tomorrow House at Johns Hopkins, Art With a Heart, Casey Cares, Civic Works and SPCA.

Other event highlights include drink specials for the adults and food specials at participating restaurants—including a free kid’s meal per adult entrée at Charm City Pizza, Leinenkugel's Beer Garden and MEX Restaurant.
