Retro-surf hang out will offer a great new gathering spot for downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (July 6, 2018) – Ballpark Village is pleased to announce an exciting new addition to the district – Shark Bar.  Originating in Kansas City in 2008, Shark Bar has anchored the Kansas City Power & Light District since opening, welcoming millions of visitors for over a decade. Shark Bar will open in the former Howl at the Moon space, joining PBR St. Louis, The Barn at PBR, The Skybox at FOX Sports Midwest Live!, the Crown Room at Budweiser Brew House, and the Hall of Fame Club at Cardinals Nation in offering a dynamic lineup of entertainment anchors on Ballpark Village’s second level. Shark Bar’s new location in St. Louis will be its second location.

“We are thrilled to announce this new anchor tenant for the first phase of Ballpark Village,” stated Bill DeWitt III, President of the St. Louis Cardinals. “Shark Bar has shown phenomenal success in Kansas City and we are pleased that its second location will be opening within Ballpark Village. This is an exciting time for Shark Bar to be joining the neighborhood as construction of our second phase continues to progress.”

A fun, retro surf atmosphere in a relaxed setting, Shark Bar will become a great new gathering spot for downtown St. Louis. Designed by internationally-acclaimed Knauer Incorporated under the direction of Mark Knauer, Shark Bar’s interior rustic beach feel pulls from both coasts. With live entertainment playing the best retro dance music, Shark Bar will be the ideal hang out for happy hour, Cardinal game days, and a night out with friends.

“Shark Bar is the perfect complement to a strong offering of dining and entertainment venues at Ballpark Village,” stated Dan Harding, Chief Operating Officer of Ballpark Village. “Its carefree vibe will quickly become a favorite for local visitors and out of town guests.”

A $260 million expansion of Ballpark Village is currently under construction. The second phase will feature a 29-story luxury residential tower, One Cardinal Way, the first Class A Office building in over a generation, anchored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, a $65 million luxury Live! by Loews hotel and a three-story retail pavilion anchored by Onelife Fitness.
