Power & Light District lands new restaurant concept from celebrity chef
A member of the American Royal’s first class of inductees into the National Barbecue Hall of Fame plans to open a new concept in the Kansas City Power & Light District that will feature a taco-focused menu.
Guy Fieri’s new restaurant will open next year in the former Cleaver & Cork space in KC Live!. “If you like to party, and you like tacos, this is gonna be your kind of dive, Fieri said in a release, according to KSHB.
The celebrity chef has a long-running connection to Kansas City. In addition to entering the barbecue hall of fame in 2012, he has featured several local restaurants on his show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” This includes Smokin’ Guns and Woodyard BBQ.
The Power & Light District also recently announced another tenant for the KC Live block: Hotel Karaoke will take 8,500 square feet on the second floor and should be fully operational in the first quarter. In addition, No Other Pub — also in KC Live! — will be expanding, with opening expected in early spring.
