Pittsburgh's Action News 4 got an inside look at progress on the project Thursday. Officials estimated Live! Casino Pittsburgh may be ready to open in approximately 60 days.

The casino will feature 750 slots, 30 table games and multiple restaurants and entertainment venues. Officials estimate the casino will bring 500 jobs to the area and have an annual economic impact of $188 million.

Dozens of slot machines were delivered to the casino Thursday.

"When we see this, we almost have a mini-celebration, and there’s many more to come as we get closer to opening" General Manager Sean Sullivan said.

The new casino will face plenty of challenges, but opening in the midst of a pandemic may top the list.

"We’re opening a property in a condition we’ve never been through before and never expected," Sullivan said.

Sullivan said the company is working to finalize a safety plan for guests, including plans for temperature checks, masks and social distancing throughout the casino. The company is also monitoring potential capacity restrictions while targeting an opening in mid-to-late November.

"Guests will go where they feel safe, and if they don't feel safe, they won't go. We understand that," Sullivan said.

An opening date for the casino has not been set.
