New $150 million Live! Casino Pittsburgh to open at Westmoreland Mall the week of Thanksgiving
The region's newest casino has an opening date.
Live! Casino Pittsburgh, thew $150 million operation built out of a closed department store space in Westmoreland Mall in Hempfield, will open on Tuesday, November 24, just before the start of the traditional Thanksgiving weekend, pending approval by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, according to an announcement.
The Cordish Company that owns and operates the facility will host a variety of charity events before opening the doors to the general public.
Live! Casino General Manager Sean Sullivan said in a prepared statement that the new casino is "going to up the ante on entertainment for everyone in the Greater Pittsburgh region" with its mix of gambling dining and other attractions.
The new 100,000-square-foot, two-level facility will feature 750 slot machines and about 30 table games, as well as the FanDuel Sportsbook.
