Big new project in North Carolina lassos PBR Cowboy Bar
The Cordish Companies’ Live! unit is on a roll.
Earlier this week, Live! Hospitality & Entertainment—which develops casinos, large restaurant concepts, and urban entertainment zones—announced it would open its first DraftKings sports bar at the Somerset Collection mall outside of Detroit.
Now Hines’s new Fenton mixed-use development in North Carolina’s Research Triangle has executed a lease with PBR Cowboy Bar, a Live! brand that puts together a mix of bull riding, barbecue, and beer under the umbrella of the Professional Bull Riders association.
The 4,300-sq.-ft. will combine 1,300-sq.-ft. of outdoor patio space and multiple bars from which patrons will have the chance to view top country music acts. Stars such as Luke Bryan and Old Dominion have appeared at some of PBR Cowboy Bars’ 10 other locations—many of which are found in Live!-operated locales such as Ballpark Village in St.Louis and Texas Live! in Arlington.
“To be able to open our first PBR Cowboy Bar in North Carolina, where we recently welcomed the Carolina Cowboys to the new PBR Team Series, is incredibly exciting for our brand and for our fans,” said PBR CEO and commissioner Sean Gleason.
PBR Cowboy Bar is scheduled to open in the first half of 2023 along with another Live! brand, Sports & Social, a 19,000-sq.-ft. bar and entertainment concept.
The 69-acre first phase of the Fenton project, which opened in June, has 357,000 sq. ft. of retail, restaurants, and entertainment, making it one of the biggest retail-driven developments built in the United States over the past five years. It is located along I-40 and Cary Towne Boulevard in Cary.
