Live! Casino Pittsburgh infused over $155M into state and local economy during second year of operation
In Nov. 2022, the Live! Casino Pittsburgh, located in Westmoreland County, celebrated its second anniversary after opening during the pandemic in 2020.
The casino reported that during its second year of operation, it contributed over $155 million to the local and state economy.
“Our main goal at Live! Casino has always been focused on how we can impact our local community in a positive manner,” Sean Sullivan, general manager of Live! Casino, said in a release. “As an entertainment destination for the region, we are happy to continue to provide these meaningful investments, while serving as an advocate for our local business community."
The casino said that it currently employs 521 local residents, and that over 227 of its employees received promotions during the year. It pays nearly $22 million in compensation.
The casino also invested over $15 million in purchasing goods and services from local businesses, with $3.5 million in spending going towards women- and minority-owned businesses. In terms of charitable giving, the casino donated $70,000 to local organizations via its Live! Casino’s Giveback Box program.
Jackpot winnings by casino customers also increased by 58% over the year, totaling nearly $70 million in payouts. Over the past year, investments were also made in the casino itself, as it opened a new 7,000-square-foot event and entertainment space, a new poker room, a FanFuel FanCave, and it upgraded its high-limit room.
