ORIGINAL SMITH ISLAND CAKE COMPANY JOINS THE OCEAN CITY FACTORY OUTLETS

Ocean City, MD (March 10, 2009) – Ocean City Factory Outlets and The Cordish Company are proud to announce that The Original Smith Island Cake Company will be joining the tenant mix at the Ocean City Factory Outlets.  The specialty bakery will offer an assortment of, whole cakes and designer cupcakes and individual cake slices as well as coffees, lattes, cappuccinos and fruit smoothies. Smith Island Cakes are affectionately know as the “frosting with the cake” bakery and were awarded the designation as he State of Maryland’s Official Dessert in October 2008. The gourmet dessert and coffee café is expected to open in mid-April with breakfast through after-dinner hours of operation.

The Original Smith Island Cake Company will join a collection of other top-brand retail tenants at the Ocean City Factory Outlets including Gap, Nautica, Kitchen Collection, Tommy Hilfiger, Jos. A. Banks, Children’s Place, Rack Room Shoes, Harry and David, PacSun, Motherhood Maternity, Aeropastale and Calvin Klein..

Ocean City Factory Outlets is owned and operated by The Cordish Company and located on Route 50 (Ocean Gateway) just west of Ocean City, Maryland and the famous boardwalk.
